GCSE Maths Tutor | Current Maths PGCE Student | 2 Years' Secondary School & SEN Experience

I am currently studying a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, training to become a qualified Maths teacher. Alongside my teacher training, I have two years of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, supporting students across Years 7–13 in both mainstream and SEN settings. My classroom experience and formal teacher training allows me to provide personalised, structured and engaging support to students.

I have worked with students of all abilities and understand the importance of a patient and positive approach in making Maths accessible to everyone. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to Maths. I begin by identifying what a student understands already and where the gaps in their knowledge are. From there, I tailor lessons to their individual needs and goals with a focus on building not only knowledge but confidence.

For GCSE and A-Level students, I can provide targeted support with specific topics, homework, revision and exam preparation. I can also help students develop the confidence to approach unfamiliar problems rather than relying solely on memorised methods.

Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not simply to help a student get the correct answer, but to help them understand why the answer is correct and develop the skills and confidence to solve similar problems independently.

Academically, I achieved an A in A-Level Mathematics and a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics, and I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology. My Psychology background has also given me a strong understanding of learning, motivation and individual differences, which I apply to my approach to tutoring.
