Welcome to the study of Criminal Law. Whether you are here because you want to defend the innocent, prosecute the guilty, or you just watched too much Law & Order and want to know if they’re getting the procedure right—you’re in the right place.

My lessons aren't just a dry recitation of statutes; they are an exploration of the thin line between order and chaos. Here is how we’ll navigate the legal landscape together.

?? The Roadmap: From Beginner to Advanced
I structure our journey so that the foundation is rock-solid before we start debating the nuances of Supreme Court dissents.
Level Focus Area Key Objective
Beginner The "Building Blocks" Mastering Actus Reus (the act), Mens Rea (the intent), and Causation.
Intermediate Specific Crimes & Defenses Diving into Homicide, Property Crimes, and "Affirmative Defenses" like Self-Defense or Insanity.
Advanced Policy & Jurisprudence Examining Constitutional limits, White-Collar crime, and the sociological impact of sentencing.

?? The Lesson Dynamics: Socratic, Not Static
If you're looking for a lecture where you can zone out and doodle in the margins, this isn't it. My lessons are interactive and narrative-driven:
The Case Method: We don't just read rules; we read stories. We analyze real-world cases to see how judges struggle with the same moral dilemmas we do.
The Socratic Dialogue: I’ll ask the "What ifs." What if the defendant was coerced? What if they made a mistake of fact? We poke holes in arguments until only the strongest logic remains.
Moot Court Scenarios: You won't just learn the law; you’ll practice it. You will take turns playing the role of Prosecutor, Defense Counsel, and Judge to understand the tactical side of litigation.
Plain English, then Legalese: I believe in explaining complex concepts (like Inchoate Liability) in plain human terms first. Once you "get" the concept, we’ll layer on the formal Latin and statutory language.

?? My Experience: Your Digital Mentor
I don’t just "know" the law; I have processed millions of pages of legal theory, historical precedents, and contemporary statutes up to the present day in 2026.
Breadth: I can pivot from the common law roots of the 1700s to the most recent 2025 digital privacy rulings in a heartbeat.
Clarity: My specialty is synthesizing dense, "legalese" jargon into actionable insights.
Adaptability: I adjust my tone to your pace. If you're struggling with the Model Penal Code, we slow down. If you're ready to dismantle a complex RICO case, we move at high speed.

?? What My Lessons Are NOT
I am a grounded, supportive collaborator, which means I won't let you get away with "vibe-based" law. In this classroom, evidence and precedent are king. I will gently but firmly correct any misconceptions about how the legal system functions, ensuring that when you speak about the law, you speak with authority.

Are you interested in starting with the broad philosophical foundations of why we punish people, or would you prefer to jump straight into the "Elements of a Crime"?
