My lessons are informal, interactive and tailored to what each student needs. I have been working in legal practice since 2017 and am currently Deputy Legal Director at Asylum Justice, where I specialise in asylum, immigration and human rights law. I work on complex appeals and applications, prepare cases for the Tribunal, and supervise other caseworkers. I have also previously worked in employment, housing, debt and welfare benefits. I was also founder and Director of the LGBTQ+ Law Clinic, an award winning initiative and currently the Legal Trustee of Rainbow Migration.

I therefore try to bring my practical experience into lessons rather than simply teaching the law from a textbook. We can work through difficult legal concepts, cases and legislation, look at how the law operates in practice, or focus on the particular requirements of your course.

Depending on what you need, lessons can include working through problem questions and essays, improving legal research and writing, preparing for exams, discussing coursework, or going through an area of law that you are finding difficult. I can also give feedback on written work and help you develop a structured approach to answering legal questions.

I have a particular interest and experience in immigration, asylum and human rights law, but I am also happy to support students more generally with their law studies. I want lessons to be relaxed and conversational, and for students to feel comfortable asking questions or telling me when something doesn't make sense. My aim is not just to give you the answer, but to help you understand how to work it out yourself.
