For my lessons I have the specification open on my laptop and go through what you are required to know in an order that I think is the most intuitive. Sometimes this is the order the spec is written in sometimes it’s not. After we have covered a topic we will then go over a set of past paper questions about that topic. After seeing how you get on I’ll make a judgement call on if there’s anything we need to revisit or if you’re good with what we’ve already done. This tends to be done over 2 lessons but depending on the size of the topic this can vary. I use a lot of diagrams and memory techniques that I used doing my a levels and make sure to pass on any tricks I used, especially when it comes to exam technique. On the buildup to my a levels I did ever single AQA chemistry past paper available to me and some pre 2015 papers as well and am extremely good at answering exam questions. I believe this is where I am best as a tutor and make sure to pass on everything I learnt to my students.
