Hello, I’m Atefe!

I’m a chemist with a PhD in Physical Chemistry, and I love helping students see that chemistry makes sense once it’s explained clearly. For several years I’ve taught and mentored university students as a teaching assistant, a Master’s thesis mentor and a research supervisor. I’m fluent in English and also speak Farsi and some Italian.

What my lessons are like
Lessons are one-to-one and online over video call, with a shared screen or digital whiteboard so we can work through problems together. In our first session, I’ll find out what you’re studying, what you already know, and where you feel stuck. After that, each lesson is built around you: I explain the idea in plain language, we solve a problem together step by step, and then you try one yourself while I guide you with questions. At the end, I’ll summarise the key points and suggest some practice questions.

My approach
I’m patient and encouraging, and I like students to feel that no question is too small. I want you to understand the reasoning behind each answer, not just memorise it, so you feel confident in exams and beyond. We’ll go at your pace.
