I have always been fascinated by the past, ever since I can remember really. It was no surprise then that I ended up wanting to make history my future. As a high achieving high school student, I earned straight A’s in my history class. I ended said class woth an in-depth analysis of the history of Spain in relation to Europe. At university, I then also had the chance to study abroad in Spain for 6 months, broadening my world view and my communicative skills. If desired I am also able to teach history in Spanish, Dutch or German.

Throughout the years I have tutored high school kids one on one, guiding them through homework, essays, and test preparation. At university I also regularly assist fellow bachelor students with complex assignments, source analysis and structuring.

As for my approach I like to see what each kid needs and build the lessons around that, but my general approach is to keep lessons light and engaging. I try to do this with older students by linking historical events to today’s world, also encouraging their connection skills. With younger kids I try to weave in captivating stories and make it more visual. If desired, the classes would also include interactive timelines, fun quizzes and storytelling sessions catered to each kids needs. I will also of course tailor the content to their homework or exams, and would go through questions together to improve individual problem solving skills.

With this approach I hope to make history a subject that is actually enjoyable, and not simply overwhelming.
