First of all, its most important to see what level the student is at and if they have a grasp on the basics. I then like to see what my students goals are e.g. improving grades or general understanding of the subject. Then, I focus on the weaknesses of the student and improve on those, by giving them questions to solve and explaining concepts in a way they would comprehend. I also like to discuss with my students a study plan to get to their goals. I am currently a biomedical science student and I have a fresh memory of my science GCSEs and A-levels, therefore, I know how it’s like to need the help from someone else to help you with difficult concepts and teach you the best ways to revise to ace your exams.
