Hi! My name is Aamina, and I am currently studying BA Hons English Language and Literature at the University of Greenwich and will graduate in July. I will also soon be undertaking a PGCE, as I am passionate about education and supporting young learners to achieve their full potential.
I have previous experience working as a tutor at Kumon Tuition Centre, where I provided both one-to-one and group support to students. During this role, I helped children improve their understanding of key concepts, develop confidence in their abilities, and build positive study habits. I also prepared learning activities tailored to individual learning needs and explained topics in a simple, engaging, and easy-to-understand way.
Alongside tutoring, I have experience working with children as a Play Worker, including supporting children with SEN needs through one-to-one interaction and activities. This experience helped me develop patience, adaptability, strong communication skills, and an understanding of how to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for every child.
My lessons are mainly aimed at primary school students and are designed to be engaging, calm, and interactive. I aim to make students feel comfortable asking questions while building confidence in subjects such as English, reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, and general homework support. I adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning style and pace, ensuring they feel supported throughout their learning journey.
I am friendly, reliable, organised, and passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally. My goal is to help every child feel more confident, motivated, and capable in their learning
