Learn Spanish in 3 easy steps

Are you interested in learning Spanish, but not sure where exactly to start?

Here are 3 things you can do right now to get the ball rolling, whilst also working with a Spanish tutor.

1. Switch all your devices to Spanish

This is such a quick and easy way to not only start getting you constant exposure to the language, but actually kind of force you to start, as you will need it to properly navigate your devices.

It will also help you naturally get accustomed to some every day vocabulary, such as days of the week and what all your apps would be named in Spanish.

2. Download Anki on your PC or Smartphone

Anki is a virtual flash card application that is just about the easiest way to learn vast amounts of vocabulary quickly. Learning foreign grammar and pronunciation can be difficult but putting in the effort to learn it won't matter if you don't know any words!

You will need to know several thousand words to be able to clearly express yourself as well in Spanish as you would in English, but Anki can get you learning 20+ words every day in just a few minutes. It's basically like flash cards, you get shown a card with the word in Spanish, you think of the answer in English and then give your response.

You can download already made decks with all the most common words and make a daily routine out of it.

3. Browse Netflix and YouTube to Find Some Shows or Music

An incredible way to learn any new language is to fall in love with a show or some songs in that language. Netflix has plenty of Spanish-speaking shows and movies, and in addition will always have the option to turn on subtitles. Just make sure that you turn the subtitles on in Spanish otherwise you won't actually learn anything!

It doesn't matter that you are a complete beginner and won't understand anything, use an online dictionary like spanishdict.com and look everything up! You will have to pause the show and look things up a lot, but after a few episodes you will have learned tons of new words as well as hearing their correct pronunciation.

You can do the same with music, just watch the lyric videos, in Spanish of course.
