Advert description
Every student learns differently, so my first session is always about understanding how they think and where they are getting stuck, not just jumping straight into content. From there, I adapt: some students need concepts explained from scratch with real-world examples; others need help structuring their arguments or tackling exam technique. I use a lot of worked examples, and I encourage students to talk through their reasoning out loud, because that's usually where you find the gaps. I also share materials in advance where helpful, so lesson time is spent on understanding, not just note-taking.
I have taught at the university level for six years across multiple disciplines, including Psychology, Criminology, Policing and Research Methods, and I have found that when students feel genuinely supported rather than judged, progress comes quickly.
