Advert description
I hold a BS in Chemistry from the University of Wah and currently work as a chemistry teacher at an academy, where I regularly teach organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical concepts to students at different levels. My academic background includes undergraduate research on biodiesel production using nanocatalysts, as well as an academic review paper on sustainable materials, which has strengthened my grasp of both theoretical and applied chemistry.
My teaching style is structured yet flexible. I start by assessing a student's current understanding, then break down complex topics into smaller, logical steps using simple language, diagrams, and real-life examples wherever possible. I emphasize understanding the "why" behind a concept rather than rote memorization, since this builds long-term retention and problem-solving skills. Practice questions, past-paper problems, and regular revision are a core part of my lessons. I also adapt my pace to each student, giving extra attention to weaker areas while keeping stronger students challenged, and I stay approachable so students feel comfortable asking questions without hesitation.
