I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic History tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping studen

I have experience teaching and supporting students in Higher Education, alongside extensive academic experience in historical research, essay writing, source analysis and critical thinking. My key strengths are explaining difficult topics clearly, breaking complex ideas into manageable sections and helping students develop the skills needed to produce stronger historical arguments. My lessons will be interactive, supportive and tailored to the individual student. I will begin by identifying the areas they find most difficult and then structure lessons around their specific goals, whether that is understanding a topic, preparing for an exam, improving an essay or analysing historical sources. Rather than simply giving students information, I will encourage discussion, questioning and independent thinking. We will work through examples together, practise exam or essay questions where appropriate, and finish lessons with clear feedback and practical areas to work on. My aim is to make History engaging while giving students the confidence and techniques they need to improve their results.
