Explaining how to do something is not enough. The reasoning behind it is what I was taught and what helped me get my grades.

I'll listen but also try to find any wavering confidence in concepts and help stabilise them with fundamental understanding of the topics. Practically it will be a typical mix of actual questions done independently by the student and theoretical explanations of the topic at hand.
