I am a qualified English teacher with 13 years of classroom experience, teaching students across KS3, and GCSE. I have also held additional responsibilities including working as Second in English, Head of House and supporting trainee teachers. My lessons are tailored to the individual student rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I can support students who are struggling with confidence or particular areas of English, as well as those aiming for the highest grades. I have extensive experience teaching English Language and Literature, including exam preparation, essay writing, reading and analysis, creative writing and improving written accuracy. I focus on making difficult concepts clear, building confidence and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. Lessons are friendly and supportive, and I always aim to get to know students in order to build relationships, but lessons remain purposeful. I will identify where a student needs help and build sessions around those areas, adapting the pace and approach to suit them.
