Advert description
I teach ESOL lessons using a learner-centred approach that focuses on practical language skills learners can use in everyday life, work, and further education. I begin by assessing learners’ current language levels and identifying their individual goals. Lessons are then planned to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through interactive activities such as discussions, role plays, real-life scenarios, and collaborative tasks.
I embed functional language related to employment, community life, and further learning to ensure lessons are relevant and meaningful. I use visual aids, differentiated materials, and scaffolded tasks to support learners with varying language levels and learning needs. Regular formative assessment, feedback, and recap activities help monitor progress and reinforce learning.
I also create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where learners feel confident practising English, encouraging participation and building confidence alongside language development.
