Advert description
Hi, I’m Tshepiso, a TEFL-certified English tutor based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with over four years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students from different backgrounds improve their English skills and become confident communicators. I have been teaching English online since 2023, working with international students through Tutlo, and I also run my own tutoring practice, TalkBright Academy, where I offer personalised English lessons both online and in person.
English is my fluent second language, Sesotho is my native language, and I also speak isiZulu well. Having learned and used multiple languages myself, I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel challenging, especially when it comes to speaking, pronunciation, grammar and building confidence. That is why I believe every student deserves a supportive, encouraging and comfortable learning environment where they can express themselves freely without feeling embarrassed or afraid of making mistakes.
My teaching approach is friendly, patient, professional and student-focused. I understand that every learner has different goals, learning speeds and abilities, so I aim to adapt my lessons to suit each student's individual needs. Whether you are a beginner learning basic English, an intermediate student looking to improve your fluency, or an advanced learner wanting to communicate more naturally and professionally, I will help you work towards your goals step by step.
During our lessons, we can focus on improving your speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and everyday communication skills. I also enjoy helping students develop their conversational English so they can feel more comfortable communicating at work, while travelling, studying or interacting with people from different countries and cultures. I encourage students to participate actively, ask questions and practise as much as possible because I believe that the best way to learn a language is by using it.
I also take my responsibilities as a tutor seriously. I respect our agreed lesson times, arrive prepared and make sure that our sessions are productive and worthwhile. I keep track of your progress so that each lesson builds on what you have already learned, allowing us to identify areas that need more attention and celebrate your improvements along the way.
