Sheida Malaki

I’m a UCL graduate with several years of tutoring experience, working with students from age 6 right up to GCSE and A-level. Alongside English Language and Literature, I have taught creative writing, Latin, debating, media literacy and critical thinking, so I can support a wide range of interests and goals.

Every student is different, and I have worked with all abilities, from children who find writing a struggle to students aiming for top grades. Our first lesson is about getting to know you: your goals, your strengths and where you would like more support, so I can plan lessons that fit your level from the start.

My lessons are interactive and focused on teaching. We break each skill into clear steps, look at strong examples together and practise through discussion, visual tools and interactive games that keep lessons interesting. Whether we are analysing a poem, structuring an argument for a debate or building a story, you will be thinking, talking and trying ideas throughout. I also encourage you to ask questions and share your own opinions, because that is how real understanding grows.

I regularly ask for your feedback on what is working and what could be better, and I use it to shape our lessons around the way you learn best. Throughout each session, I give clear feedback too, so you always know what went well and what to focus on next.
