The best way to learn is remain active and engaged. Methods focus on talking through questions and content, starting with areas of the course the student finds tricky, and using this as a springboard to tackle other issues that naturally arise. The idea is to equip students with the tools to think about the subject matter, with factual recall acting as a support rather than a focus.

Lessons are outlined by teasing out the students level of conceptual understanding, clearing up any misconceptions and then using the new understanding to answer questions. Each session will be accompanied by a summary of the content covered, which will be sent through in post.


I, myself, started out tutoring on the EasyA app, answering questions in science and maths for A level and GCSE students. In my teaching I am following the example set by my supervisors at Cambridge to convey knowledge in a clear and supportive manner.
