I structure my lessons in a way to first give the student the 'Big Picture' of the topic we are covering to ensure the student knows what we are talking about and that he/she can build upon the basic knowledge of a particular topic. Then I introduce the student to the smaller details that are the building blocks of the big picture and use illustrations to explain how biological processes in the human body work, or how certain organs work, for example. I apply this same method when teaching about ecosystems, inheritance, animal kingdom, plants and other parts of biology.
