Chemistry A'level tuition ONLINE

Advert description
I am a teacher with 30 years of classroom and tutoring experience, teaching general science (combined science), biology, physics and chemistry to GCSE, IGCSE, and chemistry to A'Level, Btech, IBMYP, AP and IB diploma.

I am a chemistry specialist, and am an extremely knowledgable tutor with a proven track record of teaching Chemistry to the highest level. I have successfully prepared students for applications and interviews to Oxbridge and Russel Group universities, and after gaining top grades, many of my students have gone on to study medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. In addition, many of my students have gained entrance to Ivy League universities in the USA, including Harvard, Browns, MIT and Yale. I am familiar with the interview techniques of university panels, and offer a mock interview service to all of these institutions, giving students the opportunity to get a feel for the questions they will face on the big day.

I am very comfortable working with whichever exam system a student is studying. I can explain topics in detail and often use real life examples to get the message across. I have also been an examiner for Chemistry for the International Baccalaureate and AQA GCSE and A'Level since 2002. I find that understanding exactly how exams are marked has been invaluable to me when providing on-going feedback, setting appropriate challenges and training students in exam technique, so that they can get the most they can out of an exam.

Having recently retired from classroom teaching, I am available throughout the day and evening and am happy to arrange classes at your convenience.

'Mr Almond taught me for 5 years at the Thomas Hardye school. He was consistently approachable, patient and extremely knowledgeable in answering any questions I had. His explanations were always clear and comprehensive. This boosted my confidence in Chemistry and I was able to achieve A* at both GCSE and A Level. He encouraged a critical and independent learning style, and I believe his input towards my learning helped me to receive my offer from Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences.'

Dan was my Chemistry teacher for the whole of my A Levels. I used to be a very poor student, getting D and E grades in most assessments. Thanks to Dan, I managed to turn that around and push my grades up. Now I'm a first class university graduate. I never would've gotten this far if it wasn't for his help. Since university I have been working closely with Dan on a day to day basis, and I can confidently say that he is still a fantastic teacher.
