Advert description
Hello! My name is Joana Teixeira. I am a 24 year old musician based in London. I am the bass player and backing vocalist of the aspiring band Electron and of the solo project Jason Payne & The Black Leather Riders. I also have an additional experience of 10+ years in singing, which comes with a BA (Hons) Professional Musicianship - Vocals Degree, as well as a MA Popular Music Practice Masters' Degree. Additionally, I have been playing bass professionally for 2 years and a half.

Having been singing from my early years, I believe that music is a universal language that has the power to inspire and give strength to everyone around the globe. I also believe that a music teacher has to be different from any other. A music tutor has to be, above all, passionate about what they’re teaching. They have to be patient and understanding, as well as kind and compassionate. I teach vocals and music theory from beginner to intermediate and high levels. My singing is specialised in popular music (such as pop and rock), but I have a good understanding of all genres. As a tutor, I also have a good understanding of the bass guitar as well, which specialises mainly in rock/metal music.

In your first class for any topic, you will have a friendly chat, to get to know each other. Then, it is important to determine what goals you'd like to establish. This will include what you'd like to learn, what your experience is, what outcome you expect from your classes, etc...

For your first class at bass guitar, you should have your own bass and amp (it is also important to note that your nails should be cut short). For music theory, always have some stationery, including lined paper or a lined book. In terms of vocals, only bring yourself and a bottle of water.

If you're interested in any of these subjects but have further questions please send me a message. All your questions will be answered.
