Advert description
Hello, my name is Chloe and I am a passionate, patient and friendly tutor who is dedicated to providing engaging lessons to my students. I have availability to tutor students from ages 10-16 to help support them during KS3 and prepare them for GCSE examinations. I have 18 months of experience delivering lessons to both KS3 and KS4 students in the classroom setting, and am therefore very familiar with the current curriculum and expectations (specifically AQA exam board).
I have led three KS3 English classes for the last Summer Term. Prior to the most recent exams, I also provided extra English lessons to a small group of year 11 students to help boost their confidence and skills ahead of the Language and Literature Papers. I adapted my lesson content to focus on the areas my students felt they needed most attention on, specifically planning practice questions, practicing creative writing, and poetry analysis.
I will take a similar approach to our tutoring sessions, working with students to identify areas they would like to make the most progress with, and then create engaging, interactive lessons based on those needs. During our sessions, we will go over their own work and make improvements together, as well as looking at effective planning strategies to boost their understanding.
I also provide lessons to help improve SPAG and writing skills for students of all ages, giving them guidance on both the style and structure of their writing.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Film Studies, and am passionately enthusiastic about my subject. At GCSE level, I received a 9 in English Literature and an 8 in English Language. I am also an avid reader and writer of both prose and poetry in my spare time. I carry this love for my subject into my lessons, keeping a positive and encouraging atmosphere for every session. I hope to project my enthusiasm onto my students and encourage them to aim for success and achieve their desired grades!
My priority is helping my students to develop their confidence and learn how to apply their knowledge effectively.
