Retired university teacher offering tutorial hours in a range of Humanities/Social Science subjects

I am a retired university teacher now offering tutorial hours for secondary students in the Fiveways/Preston Park area of Brighton (Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Levels). I hold a DBS Enhanced Certificate.

Subject areas: History, Sociology, Film/Media Studies, Philosophy, and related Humanities/Social Science subjects

Highly experienced, friendly and supportive, I provide help with regular course study, exam preparation, and general confidence-building in a range of subjects. I also offer advice on UCAS applications for students beginning to look at university options.

I can also help with essay and creative writing skills, confidence-building for class participation (speaking in class, oral presentations, group project skills etc.), French (esp. grammar, pronunciation, composition), and critical thinking skills.

Each lesson is tailored to your specific needs, using your course texts and/or other agreed learning materials. Friendly and approachable, I encourage joy, curiosity, and critical thinking in all students, as well as a quality learning experience.
