I have over 29 years of experience teaching English Language and Literature in an Outstanding-secondary school and, for over 10 years, have privately tutored students both face to face and online.

I have intimate knowledge of the National Curriculum and how it is delivered at Key Stage 3. I have taught the latest AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas specifications and currently mark the AQA English Language Paper 1 for the board. In addition, I have also prepared students for their KS2 SATs and for the 11+ exam, as well as teaching the International iGCSE to students from both private and state schools in the UK and abroad.

Online learning is conducted remotely via WhatsApp, Meet or Teams. An engaging and comprehensive PowerPoint containing the lesson materials is sent prior to the lesson. Homework is then set, then reviewed and marked together at the start of the next lesson. This then informs the learning for the lesson and ensures that all learning gaps are filled.
