GCSE Mathematics Tutor with over 30 years experience

I have a degree in maths and education studies and taught secondary aged students in state schools for over 30 years across the age and ability ranges.
I have a plethora of evidence demonstrating consistent effectiveness in building strong, purposeful, professional relationships with students and outstanding examination results.
I know the current GCSE syllabus: content, assessment criteria, examination style, mark schemes, like the back of my hand as well as the building blocks required to access it at both foundation and higher tiers.
My lessons contain:
1. diagnostics to identify the correct starting point for a particular concept
2. opportunities for revision and practice to secure knowledge
3. opportunities for application and problem-solving to deepen understanding
4. opportunities for past examination question practice, including understanding and applying the mark schemes for GCSE students
5. setting and assessing manageable independent tasks
6. verbal and written feedback
7. lots of praise and encouragement to build confidence
8. opportunities for success to engender intrinsic enjoyment of maths
I am able to provide tuition to individuals or small groups (up to 3 students of similar level) at KS3 and KS4.
