Advert description
Hi! I'm a second year Economics and Finance student at the University of Southampton, and I really enjoy finding creative ways to make learning fun and engaging.
As a Peer Leader at university, I design interactive activities to help students develop their confidence and study skills. One of my favourite activities was turning a session on productivity into an auction, where students worked together to explore different techniques. I love coming up with ideas like this because I believe learning should be something students look forward to, rather than something they find stressful.
In my tutoring sessions, I'd focus on understanding what each child finds easy, what they struggle with and how they learn best. I'd break down tricky topics into smaller steps, use examples and activities to make concepts easier to understand, and encourage students to ask questions without worrying about getting things wrong.
Whether your child needs help understanding a particular topic, practising what they've learnt at school or building their confidence, I'd aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where they feel comfortable learning at their own pace.
Most importantly, I want students to leave each session feeling a little more confident in what they can achieve!
