Advert description
I am primarily a visual and conceptual mathematics teacher. I naturally look for the structure connecting mathematical ideas and for representations that make that structure visible. My architectural approach to planning means that I think carefully about foundations, sequence, dependencies and how the parts of a lesson contribute to the whole.
I am an Early Career Teacher with PGCE and QTS in 11–19 Mathematics. I enter teaching after a long professional career in IT, data architecture, consultancy and adult training. Background gives me maturity, analytical thinking, and organisation skills.
Teaching focus currently Y7-Y11, but happy to drop down to Primary.
Not currently comfortable to teach A-Level for exams.
My Post-Graduate Mathematical Maturity and Career Experience does mean I can help A-Level Students understand and explore mathematics - Guiding them on going deeper conceptually and where to self-help on YouTube, etc. Can help resolve issues around understanding at A-Level if a student is motivated, and would welcome 1-1 A-Level tutoring experience as a route to eventually teaching A-Level Maths and Further Maths in the classroom. As such I will provide the advertised A-Level service for £20/hour + Travel, as it is mutually beneficial.
Please note I am also doing cover-supply work in schools, so can't guarantee my availability. Will vary week on week.
