Qualified Teacher (QTS) GCSE Maths & Science Tutor

I am a qualified secondary school teacher (QTS) with three years of UK classroom experience, specialising in GCSE Maths and Science. I have taught AQA GCSE Combined Science at both Foundation and Higher tier and have experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities and starting points.

My lessons are personalised to each student. I take time to identify gaps in understanding and misconceptions before adapting my teaching to focus on exactly what they need. I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and encouraging, while building both subject knowledge and confidence.

I use a combination of explanation, worked examples, questioning and exam-style practice to help students understand why rather than simply memorise methods. For GCSE students, I also focus on exam technique, common misconceptions and how to apply knowledge effectively to unfamiliar questions.

I am particularly proud of the progress my students have made in the classroom, with students improving their grades by up to three full grades in a single year. I bring the same personalised approach to tutoring, where one-to-one teaching allows us to work at the student's pace and focus on their individual goals.

Whether a student is looking to build confidence, catch up on challenging topics, consolidate their understanding or work towards the highest possible grade, I aim to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something they previously found difficult - and more confident in their ability to succeed.
