Advert description
I am a final-year Philosophy undergraduate at the University of Reading, currently on track for a First, offering friendly and engaging support for AQA A-level Philosophy students.
I love philosophy. For me, the more I study it, the larger, clearer and more interesting the world becomes. I would love not only to help students achieve the grades they are capable of, but also to help them begin to see philosophy as something that can deepen their understanding of themselves, others and the world around them - as well as something they begin to genuinely enjoy thinking and talking about.
I shape sessions around the individual student and can focus on difficult topics, breaking down arguments, essay planning, practice questions or exam preparation. I use clear explanations and plenty of lively discussion, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas and disagreeing with me.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I prepare carefully for every session and take the responsibility seriously. I am familiar with the AQA A-level course, having taken it myself a few years ago, and I have since studied philosophy intensively at university. This means I can help students develop stronger subject knowledge, clearer arguments and greater confidence in expressing their own ideas.
