Advert description
I love philosophy. For me, the more I study it, the larger, clearer and more interesting the world becomes, opening up new ways of understanding ourselves, other people and the questions that shape our lives. I want to share some of that enthusiasm with students so that philosophy becomes more than something to memorise for an exam. I hope they can genuinely enjoy the subject and experience some of the excitement I find in discovering new ideas, questions and ways of seeing the world.
I shape sessions around the individual student and can focus on difficult topics, breaking down arguments, essay planning, practice questions or exam preparation. I use clear explanations and plenty of lively discussion, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas and disagreeing with me.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I prepare carefully for every session and take the responsibility seriously. I am familiar with the AQA A-level course, having taken it myself a few years ago, and I have since studied philosophy intensively at university. This means I can help students develop stronger subject knowledge, clearer arguments and greater confidence in expressing their own ideas.
Above all, I want students to leave each session feeling more confident, more curious and better able to explain not only what philosophers think, but why those ideas matter.
