Advert description
I'm a medical student able to tutor GCSE maths and GCSE and A-level science. Having the privilege to study medicine as well as my A-level studies has taught me the key study strategies to work hard, efficiently and achieve the high grades.
I like to make my sessions as active as possible. I like to break down difficult concepts while asking guiding questions to help reason through the problem. This approach will help with retaining information and help with critical thinking required in exams. Listening is also another important part of my teaching to know where a student is stuck in their problem, how to approach it in an efficient way tailored to the student and give constructive criticism where needed. Having below par GCSEs for a medical applicant I learnt to take responsibility for my own learning. I focused on motivating myself to work harder and study more efficiently. I reflected on my methods and found what works for me and I know the methods that may work for different individuals allowing me to adapt to different students. These skills personally allowed me to turn things around and get the A-level grades to allow me to get into medical school. Seeing my students grow in confidence in their learning gave me the motivation and passion for teaching and I want to continue to help students reach the their full potential.
