Supportive, but rigorous, caring, but aiming for results, fun but focussed. Learning should be the most rewarding challenge.

Teaching is my passion. I love learning, books, and study, and being able to share that with people is always a pleasure. Few things make me happier than when a student finally understands a tricky concept, or masters a new skill. But that doesn't mean that I am not results oriented. Learning has to be disciplined and rigorous in order for it to be fun and engaging. My goal as a teacher is to support every kind of student, from the high-flyers the strugglers, with the kind of care that leads to results, and the kind of fun that helps students focus and understand. At sixth form college I did a lot of tutoring, sometimes people would ask me to mark, correct, or give feedback on their essays, and sometimes I would give lessons to people over the course of a few weeks or months. And since then I've volunteered in South Africa with children, teaching them in various settings, including at a school, an orphanage, and a Holiday Bible Club.
