Advert description
I personally have a profound interest in exploring how people approach mathematical concepts and ideas. I would say I have a subconscious predilection towards taking alternative approaches to problem - which don't directly align to the standard curriculum - in order to force my brain to conceptualise ideas in different perspectives. If I became a teacher, I think the most necessary thing to cultivate a passion for maths in young individuals is to firstly, explain to students why a concept works rather than simply giving formulas and expecting them to just regurgitate definitions and formulas rather than giving mathematical reasoning to why these formulas work. Furthermore, problem-solving skills are also an essential skill tool for any individual regardless of what subject a student biases. Having strong problem-solving abilities will allow young individuals to flourish in Mathematics. Therefore, students can expect me to make mathematics seem incredibly interesting due to my utmost passion for the subject. I will cultivate and create young problem-solving students who will build a profound interest in Mathematics so they can push themselves to achieve high grades.
