My experience:
Warwick Mathematics: BSc Mathematics student, averaging around 80%. A-levels: A* in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. BMO1: Top-third performance in the British Mathematical Olympiad. Teaching & tutoring: Taught 2–3 mathematics lessons per day at a school, tutored A-level student 1:1, trained Year 8 student for junior maths challenge. Leadership: Several years of leading small teams through volunteering.
My style:
Lessons that focus on mastering one topic at a time: understanding the big ideas, developing the intuition and learning the hidden tricks useful for problem solving. Will work through a range of questions, gradually increasing in difficulty. I aim to find the level that pushes students without overwhelming them, while also using easier questions to build fluency and confidence and harder ones to spark curiosity and set goals. I’m very goal-oriented, breaking bigger challenges into manageable steps and helping students develop the same approach to difficult problems.
