I personalise your lessons after an initial meeting to understand your English level and plan accordingly

Advert description
I think English is an important language to know so teaching benefits both me as a teacher and you as a student. Once you get in contact with me, we can arrange an initial introduction and we can identify what you need help with and what type of teaching best helps you learn. I'm all for personalised teaching whether it's strict or relaxed, I will tailor my lesson plans accordingly :)

I have only a year of experience in tutoring, this is my first time trying it online
My lessons are often quite free-flowing, I start with the basics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and I often do this as long as it takes until my student feels comfortable using them in a worded problem. I do try to keep it within a schedule but I am willing to make more time for it if the student is having trouble, I'm in no rush, however, I do realise that they may be falling behind in school and need a bit more discipline so I do appreciate a group effort alongside the parents.
I use positive affirmations to teach, I find it's the best way to uplift a child's confidence and they show a lot more interest in the topic when they are being rewarded with either words or gifts. It helps them maintain the knowledge they've gained as a means to impress and be rewarded. Think of it as a 'give and take' situation.
When they get a problem wrong or don't grasp the concept of certain topics easily, it's important to emphasise the fact that everyone learns at their own pace and that they will get it with the right mindset and most importantly, the right teacher. It's important to find a teacher that is willing to set aside some time to help and go over stuff the child doesn't understand so that they don't feel neglected or that they may be behind everyone else.
i like to spread out different topics over a couple of days; for example, Mondays and Tuesdays we'll do addition, Wednesdays and Thursdays we do subtraction and on Friday we do a recall of what we've learnt that week and if we remember how to practice what they've learnt. I find this way they're not overloaded and overfed with new information and can learn at a comfortable pace
