Experienced EYFS / Phonics Teacher

Hi, I'm Dagmara but most people just call me Mara!
I have over 10 years of experience working in Early Years education, and helping young children find their feet with reading and phonics is genuinely something I love. There's nothing quite like that moment a child's face lights up when it all clicks into place.
I'm a fully qualified teacher (QTS with Early Years Teacher Status) and I trained through the competitive Teach First programme, which gave me a really strong grounding in how children learn and develop.
More recently, I completed the NPQ in Early Years Leadership - the highest national qualification available for early years professionals - so you can be confident that what I'm offering is rooted in the very best, up-to-date practice.
I specialise in the Read Write Inc. (RWI) Phonics scheme, which is used in primary schools across the country. Whether your child is just getting started, has hit a bit of a wall, or simply needs some extra practice alongside school, I know this programme inside out and can help make it feel manageable - and even enjoyable!
In my school career I've taught in Reception and Nursery settings, led whole EYFS teams, and designed curriculum from scratch - so I understand exactly what schools expect at each stage, and how to help your child get there with confidence. While I am passionate about EYFS I also have experience in teaching Year 1-6 so if this is something you require please do not hesitate to reach out.
Every child I work with gets sessions tailored completely to them. I'll take the time to understand how your child learns best (their pace, their interests, what makes them tick) and build lessons around that. No two sessions look exactly the same, because no two children are the same.
