I'm from Newcastle, England. I am a certified and experienced English teacher who has taught students from all over the world. My passion for language stems from my love of literature. I am an award-winning writer of both fiction and non-fiction, with experience editing blogs and journals. I am part of two writing groups and read every single day.
Additionally, I have experience tutoring English Literature and writing to students.
With experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at all learning levels, from beginners to advanced as well as Business English, I can help you at every stage of your language journey. You will improve your writing, reading, speaking and listening in our lively and interesting lessons. My lessons always break down grammar in a way that is easy to understand. Plus, I teach vocabulary using interactive activities like articles, games, storytelling, and more, in order for you to best remember new words. My lesson content will be relevant to your life and the world today. Teaching English Literature is an exciting and rewarding job. I read every day and enjoy a wide range of literature. Throughout my studies and in my personal life I have read and analysed many of the classics so have good knowledge of the canon. The experience from my freelance editing and writing work, English language teaching job and literature and writing studies combined has equipped me with an excellent standard of vocabulary, grammar, punctuation and sentence formation. I can help you prepare for exams and write academic essays. My method is to teach in a methodical but interactive way which equips you to achieve high grades whilst also develop your own imagination and independent thought. Grow in confidence and deepen your love of literature!
My approach to teaching is to make it fun and rewarding. I always tailor my lessons to the interests and learning goals of each student in order for them to get the best out of their lessons.
