English is the word for today

Advert description
I'm a Biology major, Environmental Science to be precise. However, I have taught teachers and students English to prepare them for their yearly exams for the State of Florida and the State of Georgia. Generally, when speaking, writing and spelling English, ask yourself a question.
Start with, "does it sound right".

The next thing to remember is to keep your thoughts organized. Stay on your subject or you can confuse the reader or the audience you're addressing. This was one of the biggest issues I observed, not staying on the topic. Isn't it confusing for you when someone is talking about one thing then switches to something else?

Spelling is another problem area. Break down your words. For instance, the acronym EDTA is an unusually long word, there for, using acronyms is very helpful but not everyone knows what the acronym stands for. So, in order to spell this word correctly, sound it out and break it down into it's parts. Write how the word sounds. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or broken down is Eth-yl-ene-di-a-mine-tet-ra-ace-tic ac-id. Now, normally we didn't encounter words like this, but it seems to me it has become a common occurrence. Also in spelling, you have to follow the rules. Like i before e except after c. You will learn them as you go along.

Nonetheless, we all start with the basics. Speaking, writing and learning how to spell words correctly. When you were a baby, you first learned to speak, then you learned to speak your first words. Later you learned your ABCs and then to write them following writing words. So...I am assuming we all know how to speak and write our ABCs, AKA (also known as) the alphabet. IF not, we will work on that one.
