English is my native language, and every culture has its slang. Which it is difficult to understand if it is not your native language. I have found that there are similarities with most, except... of course, Latin. Nonetheless, Latin is no longer a spoken language. Thank goodness!

I personally like to find out first what the person I am addressing understands. That alone tells me where we should start. Usually..the basics and take it from there. I believe repeating something helps it to sink in your head. At least it worked for me, do it over and over again until you get it. That's how I got through college. Happened in College Algebra class on day. I did the problems repeatedly, then the professor asked everyone in the class, "Do you get it?" I had a eureka moment. I stood up from my chair and said, "OH...I get it!" and the other students laughed and said, "I'm glad you do". I realize not everyone has a photographic memory...I certainly don't. Peat, peat and repeat is my motto.
