Advert description
My lessons are designed around the individual child, their age, current level, learning style, and what actually keeps them engaged. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, especially with young learners who can switch off quickly if the content doesn't feel relevant or exciting to them.
For younger children aged 5–7 I focus on building confidence through phonics, simple storytelling, and word games. At this stage learning feels like play and that's exactly how it should be. Short, focused activities keep attention high and make sure each session ends on a positive note.
For children aged 8–11 I introduce more structured reading comprehension, creative writing, and grammar in a way that connects to things they actually care about, their favourite books, games, or topics. I ask them questions, give them choices, and make them feel like active participants rather than passive listeners.
Every session starts with a quick check in to see how they're feeling and what they remember from last time. I build on what they already know rather than jumping ahead, and I make sure praise is specific and genuine, not just telling them they did well, but telling them exactly what they did well and why it matters.
I also communicate regularly with parents to share progress, flag anything that needs extra attention, and make sure we're all working towards the same goals. Learning doesn't stop when the session ends and I want parents to feel equipped to support their child between lessons.
My goal is simple, to build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of the English language that stays with them long after our sessions are done.
