My tutoring approach is to assess a students ability at first to see where strengths and areas of development lie and then to develop a bespoke program of learning episodes that seek to developed these different areas. As a student approaches examinations then this approach changes to be more focused on examination skills and building up to examinations. It is a delicate use of timing to ensure that students know what to develop and when to develop it. As an examiner I know what exam boards are looking for and as such I can teach this skillfully.
