I am currently a Senior Examiner and Moderator for AQA and OCR and a Lead Examiner for AQA INTERNATIONAL A-Level (formally known as a Chief Examiner - i.e. the person who writes the exam paper). I tutor online to provide support for a wide range of students, particularly 11/13+/scholarship, Year 10/11 GCSE and Year 12/13 A-level students. I also provide fully planned/bespoke sessions to support remote learning.
I don’t want to blind side you with lots of jargon about ‘targets’ and what predictors say but here it is……” Coaching, questioning, and effective modelling and feedback, as well as metacognition and study skills are all essential to the process of learning”. What this actually means is I want you to get the best grade possible and will pass on all (well as much as you can take) of my experience to “get you through, with the best grade possible”.
In summary I’m your man if it’s improved exam techniques that focus on the actual question being examined, as well as content led revision specific to your syllabus and needs. Unlike many other tutors out there I ONLY tutor geography.
PLEASE NOTE - I am new to this platform but have tutored well over 400 students in the last 8 years.

Simon's lessons were engaging, structured and supported our daughter's subject development and confidence. He was able to provide tips and advice given his exam assessor background. Our daughter was extremely shy and lacking in confidence and Simon was able to get her on board. She secured a great final result with her A level Geography grade rising 3 levels from her end of summer mocks. Simon was reliable, flexible and kept us up to date as needed. We would highly recommend Simon

Simon is an amazing tutor he taught my daughter A-Level Geography from the start of Year 13, where she was currently working at a B and came out with an A* after his support. He is very knowledgeable and puts a lot of attention on exam technique, which she found very useful. He also helped her on her NEA and she got 58/60. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more!

Simon is a great teacher who is very knowledgeable and has an abundance of resources. His lessons are engaging and he explains areas of content that I found challenging in A-Level geography very clearly as well as focusing a lot on exam technique. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for some extra help and support with geography.
