Advert description
As a parent, you want to know that your child is genuinely making progress and getting something valuable from their tutoring. Having studied GCSE English Literature myself, I understand how difficult it can be to go from understanding a text to actually writing the detailed analysis and strong essays that exams require.
My approach is focused on helping students understand what they are writing and why, rather than giving them generic essay structures to memorise. We can work on whatever your child needs most, whether that is understanding a difficult text, analysing quotations, developing stronger arguments, improving essay structure or simply becoming more confident with the subject.
I also offer a free weekly Zoom check in for parents and students, where we can talk through how things are going, what we have been working on and anything that might need more attention. I think keeping parents involved is important, and it also means you can actually see the progress your child is making.
Most importantly, I want students to finish each lesson feeling like English Literature is something they can actually do well in, rather than a subject they have always struggled with.
