I am an experienced A Level Politics teacher and Head of Department with over 30 years of teaching experience, specialising exclusively in Politics. I teach both the Edexcel and AQA specifications, covering UK Politics, UK Government, US Politics, Political Ideas and Global Politics, with particular expertise in American Politics.
Throughout my career I have consistently achieved outstanding examination results, helping students not only meet but frequently exceed their target grades. As a private tutor, I have built a strong reputation for improving confidence, developing exam technique and enabling students to secure the grades needed for their first-choice universities.
Every student is different, so I tailor lessons to individual needs. Whether you are aiming for an A*, trying to move from a C to a B, or simply looking to gain confidence with challenging topics, I will develop a structured programme that focuses on your strengths while addressing areas for improvement.
My sessions combine clear explanations of political concepts with rigorous exam preparation. We work extensively on essay structure, evaluation, source analysis, revision strategies and the specific skills required by each exam board. I also provide detailed feedback on written work, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to maximise marks.
