Advert description
I strongly believe that lessons are most effective when the pupil feels engaged and interested. Therefore, my lessons will centre around interaction and communication rather than silent practice. In my previous experience tutoring, I’ve deployed ‘back-and-forth’ techniques where I explain a theory to the pupil before asking them to relay the information back to me in their own words, and then test their understanding with practice questions. This is followed by feedback and discussion over the methods obtained by the pupil to achieve the answer.
I have experience in teaching children aged 4-16, as I have been tutoring online and in-person privately for the past two months. Moreover, I have experienced how to handle young children through my experience as a karate instructor at Shotokan Karate England. Finally, an illuminating trip to Nepal last summer saw me undertake the challenge of teaching Maths, English and Science every day for a week in a local school to children aged between 4 and 16. This experience, whilst firstly being incredibly humbling, helped to inspire my passion for sharing my own knowledge with others and has driven me to tutor in the UK.
