Teaching English language for foreign students

I’m a UK‑qualified lawyer (admitted in 2003) and have two decades of recruitment experience with a career built on clear communication, structured thinking and precise writing. Although I’m not a formally trained tutor, I have spent more than two decades helping people improve their English in real, practical ways. My professional life has involved mentoring newly qualified lawyers, guiding students entering the legal profession, and supporting individuals who need help expressing themselves confidently in both writing and speech. Over the years, I’ve learned how to explain complex ideas simply, patiently and with encouragement.... and that is exactly how I teach English. I also use humour to ensure you are relaxed!

I used to volunteer at a primary school, working with children, and I assist women who are new to the UK and learning English for the first time in pro bono court cases. These experiences have taught me how to adapt to different learning styles, different levels of confidence and different cultural backgrounds. I understand how intimidating language learning can feel, and I work to make it comfortable, friendly and empowering.

My lessons are one‑to‑one and fully tailored to your needs. If you are a beginner, we will start with simple vocabulary, everyday phrases and confidence‑building conversation. If you are intermediate, we will work on grammar, clarity, pronunciation and real‑world English you can use immediately. If you are advanced or a professional, I can help you refine your writing, improve your communication style, and strengthen your English for work, study or daily life.
