Advert description
Did you know that you can read French correctly even if you don't understand all the words?
French spelling look really confusing, but it follows patterns.
I will teach you how to recognise these patterns and work out how French words should be pronounced — including words you've never seen before.
My lessons are ideal for GCSE students who struggle with reading aloud and for adults who find written French intimidating. We'll work step by step on sounds, letter combinations, silent letters and endings, gradually progressing from words to sentences and texts.
I learned French myself many years ago and went on to achieve a DALF qualification. This means I know what it is like to approach French as a speaker of another language. Over the years, I developed my own systematic way of understanding French reading and pronunciation, and I can now teach that approach to you.
I also hold a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a foreign language and have 15 years of experience giving private English lessons. This teaching experience has taught me how to explain unfamiliar language clearly, patiently and step by step.
I also speak Latvian and Russian as my native language.
Lessons are friendly and practical, and complete beginners are very welcome. Available online and in London.
