I will use diagnostic assessment to identify gaps in students’ knowledge and skills, setting clear, measurable targets to address these through targeted planning. I will employ scaffolding, modelling and the gradual release of responsibility to build confidence and independence, adapting support to meet diverse learning needs. Through formative assessment, questioning and regular feedback, I will monitor progress and address misconceptions. I will explicitly teach metacognitive strategies, encouraging students to reflect on their learning, evaluate their approaches and take ownership of their progress. Throughout, I will maintain clear instruction and a warm, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and succeed.
