Advert description
I graduated from Oxford University in 2021, with a degree in French and Spanish. As well as studying the languages, I wrote critical essays every week in English, as well as studying the history, philosophy, and culture of Francophone and Hispanic countries. I specialized in Latin American literature and film, and I have lived and worked in Mexico. I work with Zapotec artisans for my clothing brand, but also have family in Spain so I am more than familiar with both metropolitan Spanish and Latin American Spanish. I have taught GCSE and A Level Spanish to students, as well as helped children and adults with their fluency. I have also taught Spanish to French people, which posed new and exciting challenges.
I regularly read Hispanic newspapers, and think that keeping up with current affairs in foreign languages is a very good way to stay connected and learn vocabulary. For me, languages opened up the world, and I would love to help someone on their journey to fluency. Having spent a lot of time in Latin America (I have been from Nicaragua down to Argentina), and working in Nicaragua for 2 months, as well as in Mexico on separate occasions, I am very flexible, knowledgeable, and malleable with different dialects, words, grammar changes, and turns of phrase which are indigenous to different parts of the continent. I am a very engaging, enthusiastic, and committed, person. Through genuine curiosity and an openness to learn, as well as a structure that will cater to individual learners. Every language learner is different, and being a highly intuitive person, I am able to meet and exceed individual needs so they can thrive.
