Advert description
I teach by actively leaning into students' own curiosity and interests. For some, this might mean engaging in debates and discussion to stretch their analytical thinking; for others who engage in more thoughtful and paced learning, I focus on providing structured guidance, clear explanations and steady encouragement to build confidence.
Having achieved an A* in sociology myself, I understand that success is incumbent on more than just acquiring knowledge. I have a strong grasp of mark schemes, success criterions and examiner reports, and I integrate these into lessons so that students consistently understand what examiners look for for top grades and how to effectively meet those expectations. During my studies, engagement with real-world issues helped me evaluate theories in depth and refine exam techniques. I now use this approach to create tailored lessons, encouraging students to link concepts to what matters to them, all whilst ensuring that strong analytical exams skills are being built.
